Notting Hill Gate Residential Development

Potter + Holmes won planning permission to remodel and extend an existing 1930s mixed use block on the corner of Notting Hill Gate and Pembridge Gardens to provide six new, one bedroom flats and a three bedroom penthouse apartment.

Given the diversity and vitality of the local environment and working closely with the local community and an art consultant to create a sense of pride and ownership, the design exploits:

Replacing the façade with an expressive and articulated alternative
Using natural materials such as grey/green slate
Extending the building to occupy the whole corner
Providing environmental variety within each dwelling
Maximising views and exposure to light
