Funtington Park Office Headquarters

The Iron Bed Company (TIBC) bought a disused defence research campus at Funtington Park to house the headquarters' offices on the first floor above the main distribution centre. The building was a typical 1960's system built office block. At the outset of the project the contractor and component makers were in place which allowed Potter + Holmes to concentrate on the creative process of production of ideas and working details. The result was a truly interactive process which made use of the in-house and local skills available.

The gullwing ceilings were all made locally as were the stainless steel 2 x 1 metre floor panels for the main circulation runway
The metalwork partitioning and window frames were made by the TIBC factory and the staircase was subcontracted to a local agricultural metalworker Fred Goddard
The perforated metal desk legs incorporate lorry exhaust protector sections
