An existing 1960s multi-storey car park is brought up to modern standards commissioned by Croydon Gateway Ltd Partnership to provide a smart facility for the regenerated Ruskin Square adjacent to Croydon East Railway station. It is reconfigured to improve access and security with a brand new vehicle entrance and exit from Dingwalls Road, new accessible lifts and a pedestrian entrance and customer centre on the south end of the building. The original concrete columns have been cleaned and restored, and enhanced with new external lighting and landscaping. Previously a crime hotspot, the whole building is now secured at ground floor level and circulation is made legible to users through a new full height curtain wall through which all levels are identified by supergraphics and lighting.
