Basement extension, ground floor extension and refurbishment, upper levels refurbishment and enhancement.

The refurbishment of a 3 storey terrace in West London for a family of five completed to a tight timetable and navigated around significant statutory restrictions.

An initial phase of upper level refurbishment and enhancement work was undertaken in parallel with the basement dig, and resulted in a combination of beautifully lit, thermally enhanced bedrooms and bathrooms finished to a high standard.

The basement is light and airy due to the generous floor to ceiling heights. The kitchen ceiling was raised to provide appropriate height for the remodelled ground floor.

Sliding folding doors make the most of the garden and transform the kitchen area. The entire ground floor can be easily opened up or closed into a set of private rooms to suit the needs of the family.

Much of the second phase of the work was undertaken with the family occupying the upper levels of the house. Restrictions placed on the basement by a shared sewer demanded creative architectural consideration. The chosen solution happily enhances the finished outcome of the project.
